Rebuild Practice

To ensure optimal performance, rebuild your QuickPractice file on a regular basis.

If you delete data within QuickPractice, your practice file may become fragmented and use disk space inefficiently. Rebuilding the practice file makes a copy of the file and rearranges the way it is stored on your disk. This way, disk space will be used more efficiently and information can be accessed more quickly.

To rebuild your practice, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the File Menu, move into the Utilities submenu, and select Rebuild Practice.

2. A dialog box will remind you to perform a backup before you continue with this command. Refer back to the Backing-Up section of the help menu if you would like to review information about making backups.

3. Select the destination directory for the new backup file.

4. Click Save to begin the backup routine.

5. Once the backup operation is complete, a message reading "" is displayed. Click OK to continue. The Rebuild Practice operation will automatically begin. be performed automatically.

6. Once the Rebuild operation is complete, a message reading "Practice has been successfully Rebuilt" is displayed. Click OK to continue.

View Utilities History

This is another option available from the Utilities on the File Menu. This is not an actual maintenance procedure-rather, it is a log that will display statistics for each time you performed the Verify or Repair Practice operations.
